Spencer Executes Mobile Point of Sale

Mobile Point of Sale is an evolving trend in retail. Over the last 5 years there has been significant increases in both mPOS users, and mPOS average transaction value. These trends can be credited to:

  • Decreasing customer walk outs
  • Line-busting
  • Giving customers a seamless and personalized transaction
  • Promoting a socially distant environment by avoiding checkout line build-ups

A highly valued Spencer client, National Candle Company, wanted to get in the game and knew the importance of having their devices up and running by Black Friday for the 2020 holiday season.

In partnership with Spencer, National Candle Company selected a tablet solution with an mPOS attachment.

There are many considerations when looking at deploying a solution:

  1. How soon can the equipment be procured given the worldwide supply chain restrictions?
  2. How do the tablet and mPOS solution link together?
  3. Is the software compatible?
  4. How do we prepare for ongoing maintenance once installed?

Spencer was able to leverage our clients’ surplus stock of mPOS devices to partially fulfil the order. In doing so, we were able to reduce the project timeline for National Candle Company while assisting our other clients monetize off their surplus stock which they no longer needed. Once stock was received, we staged, key injected, and shipped all devices to site for deployment.

Today, Spencer maintains these devices at every National Candle Company store to make sure they always have a performing device to assist their customers.
