This showcase was described by many as the event of the decade with a star studded attendance debuting Virgil Abloh’s Spring-Summer 2022 Menswear final show and tribute. Spencer played an instrumental role in the set up and ongoing support of the technology necessary to complete such a successful fashion show.

Spencer excelled in event technology

With our dedicated team, Spencer turned the Miami Marine stadium into 3 areas for use:

  1. The Back of House/Production areas we lit up with wireless for the trailers the staff worked in
  2. The tent the models were prepped in
  3. The video production area as the event was live streamed by LV

The after party area following the fashion show was connected with fiber to allow for APs to be installed, lighting up the area for wifi used in the event’s production and catering.

A special part included the barge that clients sat on and the fashion show was conducted on. Spencer installed APs underneath the barge floor and on the dock/runway to allow for clients to have wifi as well as the video and photography staff. Full connectivity for the clients at all times was very important, so free wifi was also broadcast to this area. We worked hand-in-hand with AT&T to provide the fiber circuits needed to connect all of these areas to an adjacent building for connection.

Yacht Haven Marina, the entry point for clients, was designated to take clients by yacht to the event site. We worked with the Marina to provide wifi for the ipads used in guest check-in entering the Miami Design District Men’s Store – a brand new store that allowed the design district to separate into two stores – Men’s & Women’s. Spencer was able to consistently provide support to the store’s opening VIP Event for the entire week.

Spencer also assisted 1 Hotel and Intercontinental Hotel in the setup of wireless monitors, printers, and iPads and provided support to these “war rooms” for the organization of the collection, models, and catering.

Following the event, there was a farewell brunch located at the Joia Beach Club where Spencer provided wifi for all guests and staff. We installed APs at the club and worked with the local management to complete this task.

“The Spencer team just blew it away and made this historic event possible. We should all be very proud”, said Spencer’s CEO, David Strickler.

Spencer Program Manager, Sarah Mitchell, also had this to say of the team and their execution of the week long event: “I could not have been more proud of the way the team worked this week and the month preceding to execute this project flawlessly. This was my 1st time working with the Miami technicians, and I can now count them not only as co workers but as friends. We received praise not only from our partner’s staff, but from AT&T, and the production companies on our work ethic and willingness to help with anything needed.”
